風趣與侮辱﹐關乎品味﹐口味與口德也是有分別的。
有心人所講發生在卑斯省某大學情人節即景﹐
香港的情景是這樣的﹕
短短五十分鐘﹐敲門聲響了八次，開門的﹐是手拿著鮮花進來上課的學生。

我當然明白你的意思，以個人的特徵，例如美醜肥瘦或聰明才智去品評別人，誠屬不當或無禮。但你也清楚，小弟在這欄指出的，全是品味上的好壞美醜，而且這些品味又只是當代的潮流，與宗教或傳統都沾不上任何關係。
品味是一種可大可小的東西，小則如穿鼻環，肚臍環或舌環，大則如纏足，試想只是一種喜歡看女人小腳走路的壞品味，就為中國女性帶來三四百年的大災難。
相信你也清楚，品味雖是主觀，但都是有粗略的客觀標準，例如關正傑的好歌藝或古天樂的差演技，說到這裏，我不打算再申述三四十歲人不應扮女巫的理由，但小弟相信你未認真看過裝置藝術，如果你細心欣賞過那些裝置藝術後，你都會說聲，該煨！

Tat,
I know what you are saying.
Some people are 醜 and they can make others feel uncomfortable, therefore they are "offending" (or hurting) others who happened to see them (their 醜).
People who are "offended" (or hurt) by 醜 people "fight" back; an act of self-defense!?
I don't know. I say I would definitely condone naturally born 醜 people. But take pity on self-made 醜 people - either way, I keep my thoughts inside my head; I would not open my mouth or show any sign to others that I am not comfortable with 醜 people around me. If needed, I move on and erase the 醜 image from my memory.
I find dirty and smelly people more offensive than 醜 people.
Again, it is a subjective matter and there is no right or wrong; but self-manners. It is up to individuals if and what to behave when they come across 醜 people. But I am sure live and let live is a better way to dealing with subjective matters. YOu do it you way and I do it my way and avoid unneccesary conflicts whenever possible.
I love my wife and I see a beautiful woman, you might find her a pork-chop. I don't mind what you think but surely and obviously you don't want to tell me what you think on this point, right?

既然自由社會﹐扮咩都得﹐又係主觀...當然沒有問題值得拿來講。為甚麼有校友回應﹖ 重點係... .U.校友已經表述:

無錯，所有價值判斷都有主觀成份，但美與醜，好與壞多多少少都係有公論，以鬼妹着旗袍為例，鬼妹骨架較大，即使大美人如Ingrid Bergman，穿起旗袍都像舉重選手。當然任何人都可以欣賞舉重選手之美，那麽小弟就只好尊重他們的品味了。

聲明﹐呢句話唔係我講既。
有本書﹐以此為名﹐作者係美國一個後生仔叫Madison。
他教人﹕
如果有另一半﹐最好走去同佢商量商量點過﹐唔係﹐估下佢會點﹖
如果係單身﹐咪想下呢個情人節有咩野意思囉。對象? 細路﹐朋友﹐貓呀狗呀...都可以遮﹗
想唔通﹖去搵個人date下﹐唔係一定要dream lover既。
點解Madison寫呢本書﹖因為他從未試過好好過過一個情人節。

is it more generation gap than anything else? I am sure in your generation, you and/or your peers had dressed (e.g. bell bottom pants) and had long hair (e.g. like Wynners) etc etc whih your parents found riduculous, right?
2.鬼妹着旗袍，
But many Chinese wear jeans; is that okay for Chinese to wear western clothing and not western people to wear Eastern clothing?
3.中大或北大那些裝置藝術，
I don'[t know what they are so no comment on this point except that I believe this is really a subjective matter.
4.臨海的curtain wall或Art Deco裝修的摩天豪宅，

5.黃皮膚染彩頭髮，小弟可能老了，始終覺得黃皮膚要襯黑頭髮才美，尤其是少女的長髮。

How about Chinese born with hair that are naturally not black? Is that ok?
At the end of the day, it is all down to personal taste and judgment. We all haev our own likes and dislikes, but it is important that poeple are allowed to do their own things (without really hurtign other people) and not getting criticized.

你應該在英美生活多年，鬼佬習俗你絕對比我清楚，所以如果中國小孩穿巫婆衫，逐家逐户問鄰居拿糖食，我覺得的確能反影香港中西會粹的一面，但三四十歲穿巫婆衫又如何？好比我三十幾歲人扮小蜜蜂通街走，無論係中國人定係鬼佬都有損市容！
小弟是放任自由經濟信徒，當然支持趁節日大做生意，亦知道文化好比遺傳，近親繁殖無好結果，所以中外交流總比單一文化優勝，學術如是，食品如是，用具也如是，但對以下近年香港的中西(外)合璧現象，真是慘不忍睹：
1.少女的Lolita扮相，
2.鬼妹着旗袍，
3.中大或北大那些裝置藝術，
4.臨海的curtain wall或Art Deco裝修的摩天豪宅，
5.黃皮膚染彩頭髮，小弟可能老了，始終覺得黃皮膚要襯黑頭髮才美，尤其是少女的長髮。

I agree it is difficult to distinguish the difference, especially we are in HK.
Anyway, just do what we like but not to "harm" others. Enjoy our own identical life!!

Chinese,
What is the definition? How do I consider what I am (e.g. western or Chinese). Do we count the skin, the talk [written/spoken language]; the dress code etc etc...
We live in a multi-national and multi-cultural world nowadays and I am inclined to believe people is a mixed of everything.
It is okay for one to maintain a sense of respect and be proud of being a Chinese (for example); but people who "attack" others for celebrating a festivity that doesn't match the colour of the skin; to me, is really narrow minded.

I understand your point.
Actually, I understand those people may probably consider they are western (Ghost). But for me, I still consider they are Chinese and shall behave as Chinese (I won't say I am right but I insist my own stand).
Anyway, more festive can boost more economical effect and we have more "point" to ask for "celebration". I think better to let it be ar. Besides, for western countries, they are also accepting chinese new year.

If a Chinese (yellow skin) was born in 香港 (hence straightly speaking a 香港人), but brought up and educated in a western country (英美), came back to Hong Kong when 三四十歲, 在萬聖節前夕，在蘭桂坊穿巫婆衫學人鬼仔小孩扮鬼扮馬，you still see him 真係肉麻當有趣?
Should we judge people by the colour of the skin?

其實年年都有，環保人士反浪費，左仔反物質主義，歐洲人特別是意大利人，則譏笑英美把他們情人節商品化，庸俗化。
我則覺得中國人眼中的鬼佬只屬英美，外語就是英文，英美慶祝的節日，我們就打鑼打鼓地學人慶祝，人哋說聖誕快樂，我哋又學人說中秋快樂，小弟才疏學淺，真係未聽過有中秋快樂的詩詞，可能你話我幾十歲都唔化，中秋快樂係近十幾年來中港兩地的創意嘛，好算吧，始终是一句祝福語，但我覺得罪無可恕的是在10月31日，即萬聖節前夕，那些三四十歲的香港人，在蘭桂坊穿巫婆衫學人鬼仔小孩扮鬼扮馬，真係肉麻當有趣。

錢鍾書說人的心天生偏左，所以人人都會偏心。在這個勞什子情人節我也不免偏心，早上送了一百三十幾顆糖，下午又送了四十二顆巧克力，其中當有「親疏有別」的意思了。

老教授在用心地講課，突然敲門聲響，她老練地把老花眼鏡架在額頭上，再轉視門外拿著一束鮮花的男孩，他禮貌地訴說是受托送花予某女生，女生滿臉春風地走到門口接花的一剎那，竟有如雷的掌聲，同學們又是羨慕又是妒忌，未幾敲門聲又響，但叫了幾次卻沒有女生來接，教授說花很美，她從來未收過花，今天很想嘗嘗收花的滋味，短短五十分鐘的課，敲門聲響了八次，收花人六位是華裔，是今天卑斯省某大學情人節即景。

情人節在特區 (20040210)
前言：天山老老受廣告迷惑，不懂過情人節，我與他玩笑了一番。
情人節是番鬼玩意，本甚有意思，可惜落在商人的手裏，便淪為商業工具。雖然如此，情人節在鬼地方還是很好玩的。例如我亦收過同事小姐的情人咭﹝我老婆唔知架﹞。遺憾的是，辦公室所有人都收到她的情人咭—－不論男女。小兒子的班主任要所有同學互贈情人咭。我老婆送咭給鄰居、給朋友，以示愛意﹝惟獨忘了我！﹞。其實情人節是所有人的節日—－只要你有愛，願意關心別人。
當然和其他番鬼東西一樣，很多事物到了大中華，便會過了頭。像番鬼資本主義，在大中華地區稱「有中國特色的社會主義初級階段」，意思是說「我要比你先富起來」。番鬼的《民主》給中華料理成「中央小數人民主」或「中央個人民主」。番鬼的《人權》成了「多數﹝人﹞沒吃飯﹝權﹞，小數﹝人﹞有話事﹝權﹞」的豉油西餐。所以情人節給港式茶餐廳化了一點也不稀奇。
在重利的商人手裏，情人節給扭曲成「商業性行為」，是社會的不幸。但最不幸的是一眾社會小羊群，終日除給教導要「排毒廋身」、「愛國愛港」外，還要被著令購物過情人節。雖然天山老老你最初不相信，但電視天天說，報紙日日寫，餅店店員告訴你，文具店小姐提醒你，最後你發覺這是真理，說了一千次而成的真理。
但請老老你想想，昨天，你心裏有一個大情人，兩個小情人，今天，你還是有一個大情人，兩個小情人，只要你明天沒變心，這一大兩小，仍會牢牢的佔在你老老你的心上。只要喜歡，你今天可給天山老婆買束花，明天可給天山小兒買個蛋糕慶祝他十一歲另三百一十二天的生日，晚上看了天山妹妹畫了幅美麗的圖畫，便送他一個大擁抱，再咀佢一啖，也是很有意思的呀！
日日是好日，天天都是情人節。這道理雖然顯淺，但對已經迷失在資訊爆炸的特區小羊群來說，要明白過來，著實不容易啊！
